Grey muzzles, slower walks, and a lifetime of love; our senior pets bring so much joy! As they get older, their needs change, but with a little extra care, you can help them stay happy and healthy well into their golden years.
Senior pets should see the vet every 6 months for checkups. That may sound like a lot, but pets age faster than we do, so catching small changes early can make a big difference!
Older pets often need diets with fewer calories and more nutrients to support their joints, heart, and digestion. Ask your vet if a senior-specific food or supplement could help your furry friend feel their best.
Daily walks or light play help keep joints flexible and muscles strong. Even short, slow strolls can keep senior pets in good spirits!
Soft bedding, ramps for furniture, and non-slip rugs can make a world of difference for achy joints. And of course, plenty of snuggles never hurt.
As our pets age, they give us endless love, it’s our turn to return the favor. If you have questions or concerns about your senior pet, call us at (770) 483-1551. We are here and happy to help.
